The population of spiders and their predatory potency have been studied in Solanum melongena (brinjal) and Trichisanthes anguina (snake-gourd) fields in two different areas viz., Nangoor (pesticide free area) and Moongilthottam (frequently pesticide used area) of Nagapattinam District, Tamilnadu. Eight species of spiders viz., Argiope luzona (Walckenaer) (Argiopidae), Cyrtophora cicatrosa (Doleschall) (Arneidae), Chrysso argyrodiformis (Yaginuma) (Theridiidae), Hipossa pantherina (Thorell…

Toxicity of insecticides to predators of rice planthoppers:Spiders, the mirid bug and the dryinid wasp
TLDR
Deltamethrin had a destructive effect on the spider populations and may have induced a resurgence of the Nilaparvata lugens population.
Effect of interaction of predators on the mortality of nymphs of brown plant hopper, Nilaparvata lugens Stal
TLDR
The interaction of three predators, viz, mirid bug, Cyrtorhinus lividipennis Reuter; wolf spider; and rove beetle, Paederus fuscipes Curt, showed significance in the mortality of nymphs of brown plant hopper.
Comparative Prey Preference and Predatory Potential of Three Major Spiders in Rice Ecosystem
TLDR
Between sexes of spiders, female was found to be more efficient than male and showed greater preference to Nilaparvata lugens than Sogatella furcifera (Horvath) and Nephotettix virescens (Distant).
An Investigation on Spider Fauna of Cereal Fields in Antalya (Araneae)
TLDR
In the spring and summer months of 2005-2006, spider samples were collected from different localities in Antalya for determining spider fauna of cereal fields, and 41 species belong to 34 genera in 16 families.
Effects of agrochemical residues on four spider taxa: Laboratory methods for pesticide tests with web-building spiders
TLDR
To both groups of spiders (the hunting and web-building), most acaricides were highly toxic, whereas herbicides and fungicides were nontoxic.

Spider (Order Araneae) Fauna of Cotton Fields in Iran
TLDR
The current study investigates the spider fauna of cotton fields in Iran during 2003-2004 by pitfall trap and insect net and classified in 45 species and 59 genera belonging to 19 families.
DOES THE STRUCTURAL COMPLEXITY OF AQUATIC MACROPHYTES EXPLAIN THE DIVERSITY OF ASSOCIATED SPIDER ASSEMBLAGES?
TLDR
Eichhornia azurea, the plant with the highest complexity class, presented the greatest number of unique spider species, differing from the other plants in spider species composition.
Investigation of abundance and determination of dominant species of spider species in Iranian cotton fields.
In the present study, density of abundance of spiders explored and dominant species determined in the cotton major fields i.e., Ardebil, Fars, Golestan and Tehran provinces in 2003-2004. Through
HABITAT DISTRIBUTION, LIFE HISTORY AND BEHAVIOR OF TETRAGNATHA SPIDER SPECIES IN THE GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK
TLDR
Habitat distribution patterns of five species of Tetragnatha Latreille 1804 were studied by analyzing 1163 one-hour samples collected at 17 focal sites representing 16 major biotic communities (habitats) in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, finding that T. straminea is able to capture prey with or without using a web and adopts stick-like cryptic postures in three different contexts.
