A modified simulated annealing algorithm (MSAA) is proposed as a statistical technique to design polyphase coded signals for orthogonal netted radar systems (ONRS) which have good autocorrelation and cross correlation properties. This algorithm is a combination of simulated annealing and Hamming scan algorithms. Some of the synthesized results are presented, and their properties are better than other known in the literature.
