Treatment of 6,6-dimethylfulvene with LiPHPh in hexane/TMEDA (TMEDA = N,N,N',N'tetramethylethylenediamine) affords the monolithiated phosphinomethyl cyclopentadienide [Li(TMEDA)][PhHPCMe2C5H4] (1).
