Polyphenylene esters has been prepared by acidolysis reaction between a free diacid and ester of phenols (1). These polyesters have similar properties as derived from glycols as, poly(ethylene terephthalate) and poly(1,4-phenylene succinate) are similar in properties. Recently, Economy et al. (2) have synthesized and chracterized intractable plastic material by acidolysis of acetate of p-hydroxy benzoic acid. These polyesters are high melting and drawable fibres can be pulled from it.
