Two commercial ligninsulphonate samples have been investigated by means of gel permeation chromatography (GPC), viscosity, potentiometric titration and conductivity measurements. The molecular-weight distributions given by GPC showed that the two samples consisted of a large portion of high molecular weight materials (¯w > 50 000), and a small part of low molecular weight (¯w ≃ 5000).
