We consider a homogeneous mixture of bosons and polarized fermions. We find that long-range and attractive fermion-mediated interactions between bosons have dramatic effects on the properties of the bosons. We construct the phase diagram spanned by boson-fermion mass ratio and boson-fermion scattering parameter. It consists of stable region of mixing and unstable region toward phase separation. In stable mixing phase, the collective long-wavelength excitations can either be well-behaved with…

Induced p-Wave Pairing in Bose-Fermi Mixtures.
A strong coupling theory for the critical temperature of p-wave pairing between spin polarized fermions immersed in a Bose-Einstein condensate is presented and it is demonstrated that both retardation and self-energy effects are important for obtaining a reliable value of thecritical temperature.
Induced interactions in a superfluid Bose-Fermi mixture
We analyse a Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) mixed with a superfluid two-component Fermi gas in the whole BCS-BEC cross-over. Using a quasiparticle random phase approximation combined with Beliaev
Observation of fermion-mediated interactions between bosonic atoms
It is shown that, when a Bose–Einstein condensate of caesium atoms is embedded in a degenerate Fermi gas of lithium atoms, interspecies interactions can give rise to an effective trapping potential, damping, and attractive boson–boson interactions mediated by fermions.
Damping of Long-Wavelength Collective Modes in Spinor Bose-Fermi Mixtures.
It is found that this holds for any mixture of bosons and fermions that are coupled through at least a density-density interaction, and the existence of the Kohn anomaly in the bosonic excitation spectrum of Bose-Fermi mixtures is predicted.
Phonon exchange in dilute Fermi-Bose mixtures: Tailoring the Fermi-Fermi interaction
We consider a mixture of a single-component Bose gas and a two-component Fermi gas at temperatures where the Bose gas is almost fully condensed. In such a mixture, two fermionic atoms can interact
Two-Element Mixture of Bose and Fermi Superfluids.
Elastic coupling between the superfluids is demonstrated by observing the shift in dipole oscillation frequency of the bosonic component due to the presence of the fermions and using an analytical model based on superfluid hydrodynamics.
Calibration of the interaction energy between Bose and Fermi superfluids
In this letter we study the interaction energy in a mixture of Bose and Fermi superfluids realized in recent cold atom experiment. On the Bose-Einstein-condensate (BEC) side of a Feshbach resonance
Tuning of heteronuclear interactions in a degenerate Fermi-Bose mixture.
Tuning of interactions between fermionic 40K and bosonic 87Rb atoms by Feshbach resonances is demonstrated and the complete phase diagram of the harmonically trapped mixture from phase separation to collapse is accessed.
Observation of Spin-Spin Fermion-Mediated Interactions between Ultracold Bosons.
Decoherence in the system was dominated by inhomogeneous boson density shift, which increased significantly in the presence of the DFG, again indicating mediated interactions, and can be tuned with a future use of a boson-fermion Feshbach resonance.
p -wave superfluid and phase separation in atomic Bose-Fermi mixtures
We consider a system of repulsively interacting Bose-Fermi mixtures of spin polarized uniform atomic gases at zero temperature. We examine possible realization of p-wave superfluidity of fermions due
