There are many railway crossings which are unmanned due to lack of manpower and unavailability of electricity needed to fulfill the demands. Hence, many accidents occur at such crossings, since there is no one to take care of the functioning of the railway gate when a train approaches the crossing. This paper describes the automatic railway gate control system using a pneumatic cylinder with sensor assistance for saving precious human lives and preventing major disasters in railway track. Automatic Railway Gate Control By Using Microcontroller

The purpose of this project is to develop an automatic railway gate system that uses the microcontroller as a main function of design. The principle objective of this project was to design an

Trapped Vehicle Detection System for Four-Quadrant Gates in High Speed Rail Corridors: Design Methodology and Implementation Issues

TLDR
The findings indicate that there is a trade-off between minimizing the distances to locate the trapped vehicle detection sensors in the track system and potential issues of reliability of vehicle detection and maximization of safety.

Design of Gate Delay and Gate Interval Time for Four-Quadrant Gate System at Railroad-Highway Grade Crossings

A design methodology for gate delay and gate interval time for at-grade crossings using four-quadrant gates is developed. The design approach is based on the concept of dilemma zones related to
