UNLABELLED Platelet-rich plasmas (PRPs) are used in a variety of clinical applications, based on the premise that higher growth factor content should promote better healing. In this study, we have determined the effects of calcium and thrombin on the release of EGF, TGF-alpha, IGF-1, Ang-2 and IL-1beta from PRPs, and assessed the mitogenic potential of PRP supernatants on osteoblast and endothelial cell division.
