This study investigates the role of platelet-derived microparticles for vascular smooth muscle cell (SMC) proliferation. Microparticles concentration dependently stimulated p42/p44 MAP kinase phosphorylation, c-fos induction, DNA synthesis, and proliferation of cultured bovine coronary artery SMC.
