Obesity is an important factor predisposing to type 2 diabetes mellitus, especially for postmenopausal women. Experimental studies provided evidences that leptin, cholecystokinin (CCK), galanin (GAL), neuropeptide Y (NPY) and insulin are involved in feeding behaviour.
