A novel candidate ligand-receptor system, INFLORESCENCE DEFICIENT IN ABSCISSION (IDA) and the related receptor-like kinases (RLKs) HAESA (HAE) and HAESA-LIKE (HSL)2, has been shown to control floral abscission in Arabidopsis thaliana.
