The first step in lookup-table-based FPGA design automation is partitioning the logic into the function blocks with which the FPGA implements logic. Most of the current work in this area has focused on technology mapping the combinational logic into the lookup tables. However, lookup-table-based FPGA logic blocks contain multiple lookup-tables,jlipflops and other features, all of which must be handled.
