577 laparoscopic examinations were performed in women presenting with sterility, chronic abdominal pain, primary or secondary amenorrhea, and irregular menstrual periods. 125 cases of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) of both the tuberculous and nonspecific varieties were detected through this procedure. 59 of the 125 cases were diagnosed as tuberculous.
