OBJECTIVES To examine the safety and efficacy of bacterial interference in preventing symptomatic urinary tract infection (UTI). METHODS A prospective, nonrandomized, pilot clinical trial was conducted in patients with spinal cord injury who had neurogenic bladder and had frequent episodes of symptomatic UTI.
