Vaccinations have prevented millions of infectious illnesses, hospitalizations and deaths among U.S. children, yet the long-term health outcomes of the vaccination schedule remain uncertain. [] Key Method A cross-sectional study of mothers of children educated at home was carried out in collaboration with homeschool organizations in four U.S. states: Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi and Oregon.

Figures and Tables from this paper

Analysis of health outcomes in vaccinated and unvaccinated children: Developmental delays, asthma, ear infections and gastrointestinal disorders
TLDR
Higher ORs were observed within the vaccinated versus unvaccinated group for developmental delays, asthma and ear infections, in this study, which only allowed for the calculation of unadjusted observational associations.
Preterm birth, vaccination and neurodevelopmental disorders: a cross-sectional study of 6- to 12-year-old vaccinated and unvaccinated children
TLDR
Clues to the epidemiology and causation of NDD are suggested but the safety of current vaccination practices for preterm infants is questioned, and further research is needed to validate and investigate these associations.
Health effects in vaccinated versus unvaccinated children, with covariates for breastfeeding status and type of birth
Vaccination is the predominant public health practice utilized by nations to prevent the spread of communicable illnesses. In the United States, fully vaccinated children receive 26 vaccine doses by
Multiple Vaccinations and the Enigma of Vaccine Injury
TLDR
It is proposed that, in susceptible persons, multiple vaccinations activate the retinoid cascade and trigger apoptotic hepatitis, leading to cholestatic liver dysfunction, in which stored vitamin A compounds enter the circulation in toxic concentrations; this induces endogenous forms of hypervitaminosis A.
Relative Incidence of Office Visits and Cumulative Rates of Billed Diagnoses Along the Axis of Vaccination
TLDR
The overall results may indicate that the unvaccinated pediatric patients in this practice are healthier overall than the vaccinated, and the net public health effects of whole-population vaccination and with respect for informed consent on human health are compelling.
The effect of influenza vaccination on trained immunity: impact on COVID-19
TLDR
It is demonstrated that the quadrivalent inactivated influenza vaccine used in the Netherlands in the 2019-2020 influenza season can induce a trained immunity response, including an improvement of cytokine responses after stimulation of human immune cells with SARS-CoV-2, and argued for a beneficial effect of influenza vaccination against influenza as well as COVID-19.
Non-specific effects of vaccinations in high-income settings: How to address the issue?
TLDR
A proposal is presented about this issue, with the potential both to solve the problem with the most valid methods, and to overcome the ethical problems that have so far precluded the adoption of RCTs to study possible vaccine non-specific effects, monitored by long follow-up.
Beliefs about Vaccinations: Comparing a Sample from a Medical School to That from the General Population
TLDR
It was found that subjects in both populations agreed with statements supporting vaccination over opposing statements, but the general population was more likely to categorize the supporting statements as beliefs rather than facts.
Is vaccine dissent based on science
TLDR
There has been an organized attempt to silence vaccine opponents, both professionals and parents who, backed with valid research as defined by pro-vaccine’s definition of “real science” have raised legitimate concerns as to the safety and efficacy of certain vaccines.

Safety of Vaccines Used for Routine Immunization of US Children: A Systematic Review
TLDR
Evidence that some vaccines are associated with serious AEs is found; however, these events are extremely rare and must be weighed against the protective benefits that vaccines provide.
Benefits from Immunization During the Vaccines for Children Program Era — United States, 1994–2013
TLDR
Modeling estimated that, among children born during 1994- 2013, vaccination will prevent an estimated 322 million illnesses, 21 million hospitalizations, and 732,000 deaths over the course of their lifetimes, at a net savings of $295 billion in direct costs and $1.38 trillion in total societal costs.
Live vaccine against measles, mumps, and rubella and the risk of hospital admissions for nontargeted infections.
TLDR
In a cohort of Danish children, receipt of live MMR vs inactivated DTaP-IPV-Hib as the most recent vaccine was associated with a lower rate of hospital admissions for any infections.

Results indicated that approximately 75% of states have reached the 2010 objective of at least 95% coverage for all of the vaccines recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) for children in kindergarten.
Hepatitis B Vaccination Associated With Higher Female Than Male Mortality in Guinea-Bissau: An Observational Study

Comparisons suggested changes in the mortality pattern after the introduction of HBV, particularly for girls, in areas with high mortality, HBV may affect girls’ and boys’ susceptibility to infections differently.
Vaccination Coverage Among Children in Kindergarten — United States, 2012–13 School Year
TLDR
Although school entry coverage for most awardees was at or near national Healthy People 2020 targets of maintaining 95% vaccination coverage levels for 2 doses of MMR vaccine, 4 doses of DTaP† vaccine, and2 doses of varicella vaccine, low vaccination and high exemption levels can cluster within communities, increasing the risk for disease.
Autism occurrence by MMR vaccine status among US children with older siblings with and without autism.
TLDR
Re receipt of the MMR vaccine was not associated with increased risk of ASD, regardless of whether older siblings had ASD, and findings indicate no harmful association between MMR vaccine receipt and ASD even among children already at higher risk for ASD.
