The isolation of two new Stemona alkaloids, 1-hydroxyprotostemonine and stemocurtisine N-oxide, and a new benzofuran, stemofuran L, from the root extracts of Stemona curtisii is reported. The major known alkaloids from this plant extract, stemocurtisine, stemocurtisinol, and oxyprotostemonine, were also isolated along with oxystemokerrine N-oxide. The nonalkaloid components of this extract included a new benzofuran derivative, stemofuran L, the known stemofurans F, J, and K, dihydro…
Cytotoxic and larvicidal activities of Stemona alkaloids from the aerial parts and roots of Stemona curtisii Hook.f.
TLDR
A new Stemona alkaloid glycoside derivative, 6-hydroxy-5,6-seco-stemocurtisinoside (4), was isolated from the ethanolic extract of the aerial parts of Stemonia curtisii Hook and evaluated for their cytotoxicities and their larvicidal activities against the dengue vector, Aedes aegypti.

TLDR
Comparing the diverse bioactivities of Stemona alkaloids stemofoline-type derivatives are the most versatile compounds representing promising lead structures for further development as commercial agents in agriculture and medicine.
Two New N-Oxide Alkaloids from Stemona cochinchinensis
TLDR
Stemokerrin showed potent anti-tussive activity on citric acid-induced guinea pig model and the 1H- and 13C-NMR characteristic of N-oxide Stemona alkaloids was summarized.
Oxidative biotransformation of stemofoline alkaloids
TLDR
Three new stemofoline derivatives were produced by C-hydroxylation and N-oxidation reactions, together with the known compound 1′,2′-didehydrostemofoline-N-oxide, which was not biotransformed under these conditions.
Stemona Alkaloids: Biosynthesis, Classification, and Biogenetic Relationships
TLDR
The biosynthesis, structural classification, and the intrinsic, biogenetic relationships of Stemona alkaloids are summarized in this review.
The diversity of Stemona stilbenoids as a result of storage and fungal infection.

TLDR
A leucotriene biosynthesis inhibition assay using 15 stilbenoids showed interesting structure-activity relationships, with more potent effects of some compounds than the commercial 5-lipoxygenase inhibitor zileuton being observed.
Biosynthetically Inspiring Synthesis of Secu'amamine A, Fluvirosaones A and B.
TLDR
It is demonstrated that the relative stereochemistry at the C2 position of these advanced intermediates governs the fate of 1,2-amine shift leading to fluvirosaones A and B, respectively.
Model Studies Towards the Total Synthesis of the Stemona Alkaloid 1-Hydroxyprotostemonine: Synthesis of ent-1-Hydroxystemoamide.
As part of a model study towards the total synthesis of the title alkaloid, the synthesis of an A-B-C ring precursor, ent-1-hydroxystemoamide (XII), is achieved starting from (L)-malic acid.
