In the present study, the phytochemical screening of Cassia occidentalis Linn. were performed in petroleum ether, chloroform and methanolic extracts. The chloroform and methanolic extracts of both flower and seed were found to contain flavonoids, alkaloids, phenolics/tannins, steroids, glycosides and anthraquinones.
