A novel aqueous two-phase system (ATPS) only containing Gemini surfactant ethanediyl-1,2-bis(dodecyldimethylammonium bromide) and an inorganic salt sodium bromide was designed, and the physicochemical properties of the ATPS were investigated systematically.
