Abstract.ThephysicalpropertiesofthreecommonIranianvarieties of melon seeds have been evaluated as a function of seedmoisturecontentvaryingfrom4.75to47.6,from5.02to46.81,andfrom 4.55 to 45.22% (w.b.) for Ghermez, Kolaleh and Sarakhsi, respectively. Increasing moisture content was found to increaseaxial dimensions, surface area, emptying angle of repose, bulk andtrue density, sphericity, geometric and arithmetic mean diameters, and static friction coefficient on five structural surfaces…

The results showed that the increase in the moisture content of the kenaf seeds linearly decreased the bulk density, true density and rupture force, whereas it linearly increased the length, width, thickness, arithmetic mean diameter, geometricmean diameter, sphericity, surface area, seed volume, thousand seed mass, porosity, angle of repose and terminal velocity.

Evaluation and Modeling of the Aerodynamic Characteristics of Watermelon Seed of Different Varieties

In this study, the aerodynamic properties of three varieties of watermelon seeds as a function of moisture content were evaluated and modeled. The watermelon seed varieties used were Charleston grey,

Varietal and moisture effect on physical properties of various pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum) cultivars

Engineering properties of pearl millet varieties (Pusa composite 443, Pusa composite 701, Pusa1201 and Pusa1801) were evaluated at varying moisture content (10-25% wb). A significant varietal

Determination of selected physical properties of three varieties of shelled and unshelled melon seeds

The physical properties of shelled and unshelled melon seeds for three different varieties: C. cucurbita, C. vulgaris and C. lanatus were investigated at the moisture contents of 5.3, 5.1 and 6.0%

EVALUATION OF SOME ENGINEERING PROPERTIES OF WATERMELON SEED RELEVANT TO THE DESIGN OF PROCESSING EQUIPMENT

Some physical and mechanical properties of watermelon seeds were investigated in this study. Size, surface area and seeds were characterized using established procedure. The volume, mass and
