Physical black holes in semiclassical gravity

  title={Physical black holes in semiclassical gravity},
  author={Sebastian Murk and Daniel R. Terno},
We derive and critically examine the consequences that follow from the formation of a regular black or white hole horizon in finite time of a distant observer. In spherical symmetry, only two distinct classes of solutions to the semiclassical Einstein equations are self-consistent. Both are required to describe the formation of physical black holes and violate the null energy condition in the vicinity of the outer apparent horizon. The near-horizon geometry differs considerably from that of…

Abstract In the background of a gravitational collapse, we compute the transition amplitudes for the creation of particles for distant observers due to higher-derivative interactions in addition to

Exact Solutions of Einstein's Field Equations
We examine various well known exact solutions available in the literature to investigate the recent criterion obtained in Negi and Durgapal [Gravitation and Cosmology7, 37 (2001)] which should be

Quantum Energy Inequalities
Quantum Energy Inequalities (QEIs) are lower bounds on local averages of energy densities and related quantities in quantum field theory (QFT). They replace the classical energy conditions of
Classical and Semi-classical Energy Conditions
The standard energy conditions of classical general relativity are (mostly) linear in the stress–energy tensor, and have clear physical interpretations in terms of geodesic focussing, but suffer the
On the structure of space-time
What is absolute space and absolute time? We have often heard that the theory of relativity has banished them, and yet Newton’s (1946) famous characterization of these ideas leaves us in the dark as

An effective way to analyze a society is afforded by the symbolic interactionist approach focusing on ( 1 ) the interacting individuals comprising a given society, (2) the social thinker, seen in
Apesar da gestão de carreiras ser uma preocupação recente no quadro da gestão das relações de trabalho, é hoje evidente a crise em que se encontra a forma tradicional de abordagem desta problemática.
