Snowmass Neutrino Frontier: NF04 Topical Group Report
- Physics
- 2022
This report covers a broad range of neutrino sources, from low-energy neutrinos from the early universe to ultra high-energy sources. We divide this report by source, and discuss the motivations for…
Probing the Large-scale Structure of the Universe Through Gravitational Wave Observations
- PhysicsResearch in Astronomy and Astrophysics
- 2021
The improvements in the sensitivity of the gravitational wave (GW) network enable the detection of several large redshift GW sources by third-generation GW detectors. These advancements provide an…
Redshift estimates for fast radio bursts and implications on intergalactic magnetic fields
- PhysicsMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society
- 2020
Fast radio bursts are transient radio pulses from presumably compact stellar sources of extragalactic origin. With new telescopes detecting multiple events per day, statistical methods are required…
Live EDS Mapping of the Precipitation and Annealing Cycle of Alloys in the TEM Generated Through in Situ Heating
- PhysicsMicroscopy and Microanalysis
- 2019
In situ experimentation allows for the direct observation of a sample in a dynamic environment. This has been facilitated by the introduction of a range of sample holders including heating, biasing,…
Effects of the Hubbard U on density functional-based predictions of BiFeO3 properties
- Materials ScienceJournal of physics. Condensed matter : an Institute of Physics journal
- 2017
It is found that the structural and ferroelectric properties change negligibly in the range of U typically considered for BFO (3-5 eV), and the need for systematic investigations of the effects of the U parameter not merely on band gaps but on the electronic structure as a whole, especially for strongly correlated materials is emphasised.
Polarization Angle Independent Metamaterial Absorber in both of Cand X-Bands
- Materials Science
- 2015
─ In this study, perfect metamaterial absorbers (MAs) based on circleand squareshaped configurations that are numerically and experimentally designed and analyzed in both of Cand X-band. The proposed…
Growth Rate of Cosmological Perturbations at z∼0.1 from a New Observational Test.
- PhysicsPhysical review letters
- 2015
Using ∼2×10(5) galaxies from the SDSS Data Release 7, this test in the framework of gravitational instability is performed to estimate the normalized growth rate of density perturbations fσ8=0.37±0.13 at z∼0.1, which is in agreement with the cold dark matter model with a cosmological constant.
A hybrid exchange density functional study of anatase TiO2 surfaces for applications in solar hydrogen production
- Chemistry
- 2014
The observation of photocatalytic water splitting on the surface of anatase TiO2 crystals has stimulated many investigations of the underlying processes. Nevertheless, a molecular level understanding…
