A well-supported molecular phylogeny for North American Gryllus species based on a combined data set of mitochondrial (mt) DNA is presented. A total of 26 individuals representing 13 populations of 11 species of the genus Gryllus and 4 individuals of two outgroup species, Teleogryllus oceanicus and Acheta domestica, were sampled in this study.
