Romete bulbiseta gen. et sp. nov. (Aegisthoidea Giesbrecht, 1892: Rometidae fam. nov.) is described from the Great Meteor Seamount, northeast Atlantic. An analysis of the phylogeny and evolution of the basal Harpacticoida Sars, 1903 is presented. Cerviniidae Sars, 1903 and Cervinioidea Sars, 1903 are respective junior synonyms of Aegisthidae Giesbrecht, 1892 and Aegisthoidea Giesbrecht, 1892. Rometidae fam. nov. is identified as sistertaxon of Aegisthidae. Rotundiclipeidae Huys, 1988 and… Expand

Genus level molecular phylogeny of Aegisthidae Gisbrecht, 1893 (Copepoda: Harpacticoida) reveals morphological adaptations to deep-sea and plagic habitats
TLDR
DNA based phylogeny reveals the deep-sea origin of Aegisthidae by placing benthic AegistHidae gen. nov. and Cerviniellinae subfam. Expand
Convergent evolution of mouthparts morphology between Siphonostomatoida and a new genus of deep-sea Aegisthidae Giesbrecht, 1893 (Copepoda: Harpacticoida)
TLDR
A striking new genus of Aegisthidae is discovered which exhibits convergent evolution of mouthpart morphology with that of siphonostomatoid copepods and represents a third major shift in the lifestyle of aegisthidCopepods, from benthic and hyperbenthic to associated forms (probably with sponges or cnidarians). Expand
Three new species of Cerviniella Smirnov, 1946 (Copepoda: Harpacticoida) from the Arctic
TLDR
Based on a review of the literature, an updated listing of the P1-P4 armature and a key to species of the genus Cerviniella are presented. Expand
The phylogenetic position of the bathyal harpacticoids Aspinothorax gen . n . and Styracothorax HUYS ( Crustacea : Copepoda )
Aspinothorax insolent is gen. et sp. n. is described from abyssal sites in the Laptev Sea (Arctic Ocean). The new genus is closely related to Styracothorax HUYS. The presence of a characteristicExpand
Unresolved cases of type fixation, synonymy and homonymy in harpacticoid copepod nomenclature (Crustacea: Copepoda)
TLDR
Type fixation for each of the 601 valid genera and 13 genera of doubtful identity (genera inquirenda) in the Harpacticoida (Crustacea, Copepoda) has been verified and new replacement names have been proposed for preoccupied generic names. Expand
Redescription of Bradya typica Boeck, 1873 (Copepoda: Harpacticoida: Ectinosomatidae) with the first description of the male
TLDR
B. typica, the type-species of the genus Bradyatypica Boeck, 1873, is described from samples collected in the course of a colonisation experiment in Kongsfjorden, Spitsbergen (2003–2005). Expand
A new species of Parameiropsis Becker, 1974 (Copepoda: Harpacticoida) from the Porcupine Seabight (North-East Atlantic Ocean)
A new species of Parameiropsis Becker, 1974 is described from the Porcupine Seabight and questions about the position of this genus within Harpacticoida are briefly addressed. The new species is theExpand
A new species of Parabradya Lang, 1944 (Copepoda: Harpacticoida: Ectinosomatidae) from the abyssal plain of the Angola Basin*
Parabradya samsoni sp. nov. is described from deep-sea samples collected from the Angola Basin during the DIVA-1 campaign in July 2000. Parabradya samsoni can be distinguished from its congeners by:Expand
Description of two deep-water copepods of the genus Leptotachidia Becker from the northwestern Pacific (Harpacticoida, Pseudotachidiidae)
TLDR
The females of two new species of Leptotachidia, previously known only from the deep Atlantic, are described during an expedition to the northwestern Pacific on board research vessel ISABU in November 2017. Expand
A new species of Atergopedia (Copepoda: Harpacticoida: Novocriniidae) from a Caribbean mesophotic reef
TLDR
Both sexes of a new copepod species of the family Novocriniidae Huys and Iliffe are described from a mesophotic coral reef off southwestern Puerto Rico, characterized by the loss of the basal seta in both antenna and maxilliped. Expand
