Globin-like superfamily constitutes a superfamily of both extracellular and intracellular proteins that are found in 3 kingdoms of life. Globins are respiratory proteins that usually bind an oxygen molecule .Earlier, phylogenetic study of globin like superfamily was based on morphological character, however, molecular basis of their functional diversity is not completely understood.
