The new ball-type metallo bisphthalocyanines (Co(2)Pc(2) and Zn(2)Pc(2)) were synthesized from the corresponding [4,4'-bis(dicoumaroylphthalonitrile)] which can be obtained from the reaction of 3,3'-methylenebis(4-hydroxy-2H-chromen-2-one) and 4-nitrophthalonitrile. The structures of the newly synthesized compounds have been confirmed and characterized by elemental analysis, UV/Vis, IR and (1)H NMR spectroscopies and MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry. Solar cells of the configuration ITO/Co(2)Pc(2…

Synthesis, characterization, oxygen electrocatalysis and OFET properties of novel mono- and ball-type metallophthalocyanines.
TLDR
The comparison suggested that the ball-type complexes form ring-based and/or metal-based mixed-valence species as a result of the remarkable interaction between the two Pc rings and/ or metal centers.
Synthesis, characterization and OFET property of four diaminouracil bridged novel ball-type phthalocyanines
New ball-type metallobisphthalocyanines 2 (Co2Pc2) and 3(Zn2Pc2) were synthesized from the corresponding 4,4′-[(5,6-diaminopyrimidine-2,4-diyl)bis(oxy)] diphytalonitril 1, which can be obtained by a
Synthesis, characterization, OFET and electrochemical properties of novel dimeric metallophthalocyanines.
TLDR
The catalytic performances of dimeric cobalt phthalocyanine in the reduction of oxygen in a medium similar to the working conditions of the polymer electrolyte membrane fuel-cells were found to be much higher than that of dinuclear zinc phthalcyanine.
Redox-Switchable New Phthalocyanines Containing Hydrazono-Thiazole-Carboxylate Fragments: Synthesis, Electrochemical, Spectroelectrochemical and Electrocolorimetric Investigation
TLDR
New phthalonitrile compound with Schiff base, carbothioamide and thiazole moieties as substituents and its corresponding metal-free and metallophthalocyanines were synthesized and characterized for the first time and suggested their applicability in the fields of the electrochemical technologies.

Synthesis, characterization, and electrocatalytic and electrical properties of novel ball-type four cyclopentyldisilanoxy-POSS bridged metallophthalocyanines.
TLDR
The catalytic activity of the 5-based catalyst towards oxygen reduction in a fuel cell-similar medium involving carbon support and Nafion was observed to be superior when compared to those of 4-and 6-based catalysts, suggesting clearly that the presence of two cofacial redox-active metal centres in the ball-type structure increases the oxygen binding capability of the metal centre and the tendency for the formation of mu-peroxo species.
Novel ball-type four dithioerythritol bridged metallophthalocyanines and their water-soluble derivatives: Synthesis and characterization, and electrochemical, electrocatalytic, electrical and gas sensing properties.
TLDR
It was found that oxygen reduction on the 5-based catalyst occurs through a direct 4-electron transfer pathway with a high water selectivity, however, the overpotential for oxygen reduction is high, probably due to a long distance between the two CoPc units in 5.
Ball-type supramolecular metallophthalocyanines with eight perfluorodecyl units: chemosensors for SO(2) and electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction.
TLDR
The correlated barrier hopping (CBH) model is the dominant conduction mechanism for electron transport in the films and suggested the formation of stable mixed-valence species of the complexes.
