Unialgal cultures of the marine diatom Thalassiosira weissflogii (Grunow) were exposed for 40 days to artificial UV-B radiation in the presence of PAR and UV-A to examine long-term acclimation to UV, PAR and UV-A were supplied 14 h daily, while UV-B (two levels: 0.16 and 0.30 W m(-2) unweighted) was supplied for 4 h/day.
