We report the first comprehensive experimental and theoretical study of the optical properties of single crystal phase quantum dots in InP nanowires. Crystal phase quantum dots are defined by a transition in the crystallographic lattice between zinc blende and wurtzite segments and therefore offer unprecedented potential to be controlled with atomic layer accuracy without random alloying. We show for the first time that crystal phase quantum dots are a source of pure single-photons and cascaded…
All-optical charging and charge transport in quantum dots
TLDR

Spectra of dark and bright excitons in alloyed nanowire quantum dots
Excitons in alloyed nanowire quantum dots have unique spectra as shown here using atomistic calculations. The bright exciton splitting is triggered solely by alloying and despite cylindrical quantum
Electronic Structure Changes Due to Crystal Phase Switching at the Atomic Scale Limit.
TLDR
The findings directly demonstrate the feasibility of crystal phase switching for the ultimate limit of atomistic band structure engineering of quantum confined structures and indicates that band gap values obtained for the bulk are reasonable to use even for the smallest crystal segments.

TLDR
State-of-the-art nanowire sources are compared to other solid-state quantum emitter platforms with regard to the key metrics of single photon purity, indistinguishability and entangled-pair fidelity to maximally entangled Bell states.
Anisotropies of the g-factor tensor and diamagnetic coefficient in crystal-phase quantum dots in InP nanowires
Crystal-phase low-dimensional structures offer great potential for the implementation of photonic devices of interest for quantum information processing. In this context, unveiling the fundamental
Defect-Free Axially Stacked GaAs/GaAsP Nanowire Quantum Dots with Strong Carrier Confinement
TLDR
This study reports a detailed study of self-catalyzed GaAsP NWs containing defect-free axial GaAs QDs (NWQDs), providing a solid foundation to build high-performance axially stacked NWQD devices that are compatible with CMOS technologies.
Recent advances in nanowire quantum dot (NWQD) single-photon emitters
TLDR
A review is presented on the recent progress and the existing challenges in fabrication of single-photon emitters, based on QD-containing nanowires (NWs) and their principles of operation, and how variation in values of different parameters will affect the desired outputs in the system.
