This paper describes a calibration method of zoom lens svsterns to eliminate the photometric distortion due to vignetting. A novel camera model including the variable cone is proposed to account f o r the marginal intensity reduction observed in irnuges. Using the theoretical model, we ,first .rhowed that the ,serious distortion due to vignetting uppeur.r when using a zoom lens thut has open uperture and long focal length.
