Green phosphor of(Lu1–xTbx)3Ga5O12 was synthesized via high temperature solid state reaction in a reducing atmosphere. The crystal structure, luminescent properties and the influence of Tb3+ on the performance of the phosphor were investigated. The X-ray diffraction patterns show that the phosphor is a pure garnet phase, and the size of the crystal cell increases with Tb3+ content(i.e., x).
