Abstract Synthesis of Au-branched CdSe nanocomposites has been reported. High resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM) confirms the formation of nanocomposite with a branched shape. Effect of the growth time on absorbance and photoluminescence (PL) has been presented. The nanocomposite has been utilized as a photocatalyst for methelene blue dye.
