The predicted major intracellular domains of the chick and rat neuronal nicotinic acetylcholine receptor alpha 7 subunits were expressed in E. coli as glutathione-S-transferase fusion proteins. These proteins were then purified to near homogeneity by chromatography on immobilized glutathione.
