Gap junctions are known to mediate cell to cell coupling. This study shows that the potent tumor promoter, 12-O-tetradecanoyl-phorbol-13-acetate (TPA), drastically affects the presence of gap junctions between mouse interfollicular epidermal (IFE) cells.
