Pretreatment of UMR-106 cells (rat osteoblast like osteosarcoma cell line) with the protein kinase C(PK-C) activating phorbol ester, phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA) results in a time dependent (1-12h) desensitization of PTH-stimulated cAMP production.
