Plasma phenylalanine (Phe) and tyrosine (Tyr) turnover and the rate of conversion of phenylalanine to tyrosine (Phehyd) and of phenylalanine oxidation (Pheox) after reduced intakes of Phe and Tyr were determined in a metabolic study involving five healthy young adult men.
