Beta-galactoside alpha2,6 sialyltransferase (ST6Gal.I), the enzyme which adds sialic acid in alpha2,6-linkage on lactosaminic termini of glycoproteins, is frequently overexpressed in cancer, but its relationship with malignancy remains unclear.
