The two superconducting phases recently discovered in skutterudite ${\mathrm{PrOs}}_{4}{\mathrm{Sb}}_{12}$ are discussed by using the phenomenological Ginzburg-Landau theory based on the the cubic (tetrahedral) crystal symmetry ${T}_{h}.$ Building on experimental input coming from the recent thermal conductivity measurements, the structure of the gap functions for these two phases are considered for the spin singlet pairing case. One of the phases, lying in the high temperature and high field…

Superconducting phase diagram in a model for tetragonal and cubic systems with strong antiferromagnetic correlations

We calculate the superconducting phase diagram as a function of temperature and z-axis anisotropy in a model for tetragonal and cubic systems having strong antiferromagnetic fluctuations. The formal

The unconventional superconductivity of skutterudite PrOs4Sb12 : Time-reversal symmetry breaking and adjacent field-induced quadrupole ordering

This review presents a summary and evaluation of the experimental properties of unconventional superconductivity in PrOs 4 Sb 12 . After a brief introduction of filled skutterudites, we argue that

Symmetry properties of the nodal superconductor PrOs4Sb12

We present a theoretical study of the superconducting gap function in $\mathrm{Pr}{\mathrm{Os}}_{4}{\mathrm{Sb}}_{12}$ using a symmetry-based approach. A three-component order parameter in the

Multiple superconducting phases in heavy fermion compounds PrOs4Sb12 and CeCoIn5

In recently discovered heavy fermion compounds, quasi-two-dimensional CeCoIn5 and skutterudite PrOs4Sb12, multiple superconducting phases with different symmetries manifest themselves belowTc. The

Roles of Multipoles and Excitons in Superconductor PrOs4Sb12 with Th Symmetry

A possibility of exciton-mediated mechanism is studied to describe the superconductivity in a Pr skutterudite PrOs 4 Sb 12 . In this compound the low-lying crystal-field states of Pr form a

Transport of charge and spin in the weak link between misoriented PrOs4Sb12 superconductors

Recently, the ‘(p+h)-wave’ form of pairing symmetry has been proposed for the superconductivity in the PrOs4Sb12 compound (Parker et al 2004 Preprint cond-mat/0407254). In the present paper, a

Superconducting phase diagram of the filled skuterrudite PrOs4Sb12

We present new measurements of the specific heat of the heavy fermion superconductor PrOs4Sb12, on a sample which exhibits two sharp distinct anomalies at Tc1= 1.89K and Tc2= 1.72K. They are used to
