  • The difference of activity in colloidal particles is sufficient to drive the phase separation in active and passive (or less active) mixtures having even only excluded volume interactions. In this report, we study the phase separation kinetics of such systems in the diffusive limit. This model is described by a mixture of diffusing particles coupled to different thermostats, thus having a non-equilibrium nature due to temperature differences.
