PURPOSE OF REVIEW The immunosuppressants are potent and toxic drugs with narrow therapeutic ranges. The pharmacokinetic variability of these drugs has made establishing appropriate dosing difficult. Currently, therapeutic drug monitoring is an important adjunct to achieving the precarious balance between efficacy and toxicity.
