Pharaonis phoborhodopsin (ppR) (also pharaonis sensory rhodopsin II) is a receptor of the negative phototaxis of Natronobacterium pharaonis. ppR forms a complex with its pharaonis halobacterial transducer (pHtrII), and this complex transmits the light signal to the sensory system in the cytoplasm.
