We present a new (and general) algorithm for deriving lattice Feynman rules which is capable of handling actions as complex as the Highly Improved Staggered Quark (HISQ) action. This enables us to perform a perturbative calculation of the influence of dynamical HISQ fermions on the perturbative improvement of the gluonic action in the same way as we have previously done for asqtad fermions. We find the fermionic contributions to the radiative corrections in the L\"uscher-Weisz gauge action to… Expand

Nonperturbative QCD Simulations with 2+1 Flavors of Improved Staggered Quarks
Dramatic progress has been made over the last decade in the numerical study of quantum chromodynamics (QCD) through the use of improved formulations of QCD on the lattice (improved actions), theExpand
Automated generation of lattice QCD Feynman rules
A suite of software to generate and evaluate Feynman rules for a wide range of lattice field theories with gluons and (relativistic and/or heavy) quarks is described, capable of dealing with actions as complicated as (m)NRQCD and HISQ. Expand
Heavy-to-light decays on the lattice
Precise predictions of hadronic matrix elements in heavy meson decays are important to constrain the fundamental parameters in the Standard Model of particle physics. The CKM matrix element Vub canExpand

Dynamical Simulations with Highly Improved Staggered Quarks
It is well established that lattice artifacts can be suppressed substantially by the use of SU(3)projected smeared links in the fermion action. An example is the Highly Improved Staggered QuarkExpand
Unquenching effects on the coefficients of the Lüscher-Weisz action
The effects of unquenching on the perturbative improvement coefficients in the Symanzik action are computed within the framework of Luscher-Weisz on-shell improvement. We find that the effects ofExpand
High-precision determination of the pi, K, D, and Ds decay constants from lattice QCD.
A highly improved quark discretization on MILC gluon fields that include realistic sea quarks is used, fixing the u/d, s, and c masses from the pi, K, and eta(c) meson masses, which allows a stringent test against experiment for D and D(s) masses for the first time. Expand
