Epilepsy is a complex brain disorder with multiple underlying causes and poorly understood pathogenetic mechanisms. Animal models have been indispensable tools in experimental epilepsy research. Zebrafish (Danio rerio) are rapidly emerging as a promising model organism to study various brain disorders.
