Abstract

It has been established that condit ioned reflexes can be e laborated in decor t ica te rabbits [4. 12], cats [1, 2, 3, 6, 11] and dogs [% 9, 10]. It has not, however, been proved that subcortical structures are direct ly concerned in the closure of reflexes in normal animals. Some t ime ago the author drew at tention to the persistence of condit ioned reflex changes in cardiac ac t iv i ty in cats after decor t icat ion [8]. Specific investigations were, however, necessary for any final conclusions.
