The behavior of 2,4-D and 2,4,5-T has been widely studied in the cool moist forests of the Pacific Northwest (NORRIS 1971). Little data are available, however, for the unique conditions in arid southern California, where the two compounds are used for maintenance of fuelbreaks in chaparral vegetation.
