e primary goal of this study was to identify variables predictive of €rst-year persistence among Black male students enrolled in community colleges. Speci€cally, this study explored persistence variables in four domains: 1) background/de€ning variables, 2) academic variables, 3) social variables, and 4) environmental variables.
