Uncoupling proteins, inner mitochondrial membrane proton transporters, are important for regulating myocardial energy efficiency. We investigated the effects of the ACE inhibitor perindopril on cardiac performance, myocardial energy efficiency, and uncoupling protein expression in an aortic regurgitation rat model.
