Two Anger scintillation cameras have been combined into a positron imaging system. Count rate capability has been extended by using absorbers to reduce scattered radiation from the object, by using 1" thick crystals to improve detection efficiency for annihilation radiation, and by implementing pulse shortening techniques and low dead time D.
