Atmospheric effects can deteriorate the intensity of the received signal and increases the bit error rate (BER). However, the use of error correcting codes in FSO system can mitigate the effect of turbulence and helps in improving the system performance. In this paper, performance of FSO link without and with coding is investigated for coherent (sub‐carrier BPSK and QPSK) and non‐coherent (OOK) modulation schemes.
