AbstractBy considering 5–dimensional cosmological models with a bulk filled with a perfect fluid and a cosmologicalconstant, we have found regular instantonic solution which is free from any singularity at the origin of the extra–coordinate and describe 5–dimensional asymptotically anti de Sitter wormhole, when the bulk has a topologyR×S 4 and is filled with dust and a negative cosmological constant. Compactified brane-world instantons whichare built up from such instantonic solution describe…

On gauge choice of spherically symmetric 3-branes

The gauge choice for a spherically symmetric 3-brane embedded in a D-dimensional bulk with arbitrary matter fields on and off the brane is studied. It is shown that Israel's junction conditions

Simple brane world scenario with positive five-dimensional cosmological constant

We present a simple brane-world model in five dimensions. In this model we do not need any fine-tuning between the five dimensional cosmological constant and the brane tension to obtain four

Comments on conformal stability of brane-world models

The stability of 5–D brane-world models under conformal perturbations is investigated. The analysis is carried out in the general case and then it is applied to particular solutions. It is shown that

Domain Wall Dominated Universes

We consider a cosmogony with a dark matter component consisting of a network of frustrated domain walls. Such a network provides a solid dark matter component with $p=-(2/3)\rho $ that remains
