  • Penicillium nodositatum Valla, a new species of Penicillium, able to induce nodule formation on the root system of two alder species, is described in this paper. It belongs to the subgenusBiverticillium ser.Islandica. Typical distinctive features of this species are canary to chrome yellow mycelium, ampulliform to acerose phialids and ellipsoid, echinulate conidia.
