Bilateral ureteral obstruction due to traumatic pelvic haematoma and increased pressure in the retroperitoneal space constitute an acute pelvic compartment syndrome. We systematically reviewed the available evidence concerning pelvic compartment syndrome using an online search of the MEDLINE databases OVID and PubMed.
